Biography
Farid Gasmi is a professor at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and a researcher at the Institut D’Economie Industrielle (IDEI). Prior to joining the TSE faculty, he was a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), NJ, USA. He holds MS and PhD degrees from the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), CA, USA. Farid’s research interests are in the areas of Applied Industrial Organization, Regulation, and Development. His work has been published in European Economic Review, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Journal of Development Economics, The World Bank Economic Review, World Development, and Energy Economics. He has extensive experience in consulting with both private and public institutions in developed (USA, UK, France...) and developing countries (Argentina, Peru, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast...).
