Congratulations to Céline Bonnet and Marine Coinon

November 13, 2024 Awards

Congratulations to Céline Bonnet (TSE-R, INRAe) and Marine Coinon (University of Bonn, former postdoc at TSE-R, INRAe) for receiving a research grant from the EXPLOR'AE ‘research at risk’ programme.

This funding will support their research project "BEES – Biodiversity, Pesticides and Public Policies," alongside collaborators Sylvain Chabé-Ferret (TSE-R, INRAe) and Clélia Sirami (DYNAFOR, INRAe).

Using a global and interdisciplinary approach that combines economics and ecology, this project aims to understand the role of policy in reducing the use of plant protection products to protect biodiversity, using the 2018 neonicotinoid ban in France as a natural experiment.

This programme is entrusted to INRAe by the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education and funded by France 2030 (ANR-24-RRII-0003 reference).

Céline Bonnet is a Director of Research at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (INRAe) within the Toulouse School of Economics. She specializes in industrial organization and consumer behavior in agri-food chains. Her recent research addresses the evaluation of food policies for better health and, more generally, for sustainable consumption.

Marine Coinon is an empirical environmental economist. Her research focuses on the causal quantification of interactions between agricultural production, the environment and biodiversity. She spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Toulouse School of Economics, INRAE, before joining the Institute for Food and Resource Economics (ILR) at the University of Bonn in September 2024.
